Welcome!

Welcome to our new family blog! With so many things going on, we decided it was time to put something together to keep up with all the info and pics. Facebook is great for sharing pics, but blogs allow you to share the story behind the pic. Enjoy and feel free to share any comments.

Drew 2 Months

Well, Drew turned 2 months old on Sunday.  It is so hard to believe that two months has already passed.  I guess it's not that hard to believe when you take a look at him, as he is now 12 lbs.  That is a 50% gain in weight since birth in just two months!  Here are a few shots I took during the weekend.

Mr. Smiles

I do not currently have a good picture to show, but I wanted to share the news anyway.  Drew is really smiling a lot!  Yes, it's usually when he sees his mom's boob headed his way, but not always.  :)  Seriously, it is quite cute watching him really start to interact with us as we play with him.  I hope to get a picture up soon.

In other news... Drew narrowly avoided a lasagna disaster yesterday!  I'll explain.  Riley, of course she has something to do with this story, was doing her usual dinner time routine of pushing the boundaries of normal social behavior at the dinner table.  Suddenly, she decided to cross the line and throw, and I mean throw, her lasagna spork five feet across the table and into the cradle where Drew was minding his own business dreaming of boobs!  It missed his head by one inch!  How can I be so sure??  Well, it left a lasagna mark just above Drew's head where the always dangerous spork made impact.  Riley, of course, just laughed.  For now, I think we shall stick to plastic flatware... :)

Dancing In The Rain

Well, this week Riley started a new daycare. This daycare has an exceptional educational program for children of all ages, including for Miss Riley. Everyday they have a "Letter of the Day" and they work on that letter all day, working it in to just about every scenario possible. Needless to say, Erin and I are very excited about what's in store for both of the little ones. Drew was supposed to also start this week, but each time his mommy takes him (with bags and bottles packed), he doesn't make the cut and comes back home with his mommy! lol

Here is a shot of Riley playing in the rain one afternoon this week.  Also, here is yet another sassy pic of Riley.

Most of you know about our Border Collie, Mia.  For those that don't, Mia is a ball nut.  And when I say "nut", I really mean NUT!  She will literally chase a ball all day long, if the person throwing the ball wouldn't get tired first, which is usually what happens.  Anyway, she has already started recruiting Drew to start throwing the ball, even though Drew can't even rollover yet!  Here's a shot of her placing the ball by Drew, then staring in anticipation of Drew picking it up and throwing it...

Brandon and Cat came over Sunday for a day full of children screaming and yelling... oh what fun! lol ~ We really did have a great time!  For dinner, I smoked a 5lb Boston Butt and a whole chicken.  The Butt sat overnight in my secret rub recipe (don't even bother asking ;), and the chicken sat in a brine overnight.  Both turned out great!  I don't have an "After" photo because they were both eaten too fast! :)

Children's Museum & Jump USA

We've been pretty busy these last two days.   Yesterday, we went to Jump USA and played for a couple of hours.  It took Riley a few minutes to warm up, but once she got going it was hard to stop her.

This morning we met some friends at the Children's Museum in Atlanta.  It was loads of fun with lots to keep Miss Riley busy!  Here are some pics from this morning's adventure.

Also, here are a couple of random pics of the two little ones over the past few days...

MIA in August

Yes, I know it has been a while since I've lasted posted, but the addition of 1 baby seems to have quadrupled our workload!  Recently we've been just trying to keep Riley entertained during the day and keep Drew alive, once again by keeping Riley entertained!

Christopher started his senior year yesterday.  For those curious, yes, he still has a stripe in his hair, although the stripe is now blond from the pool.

Drew turns 6 weeks old today!  He now weighs (as of our 4am feeding) 10 lbs 8 ounces.

The following pics are from Drew's most recent bath, along with pics of Riley playing in the spicket one morning.  We'll do anything to keep her entertained!

Riley has now taken over bottle feeding duties.  Of course I protested, but she pulled rank and that was the end of that.
